A 90 minute teacher practice catered to certified teachers who are seeking to enrich their offering and practical knowledge base. These monthly classes grant opportunity to build on a teachers foundation, by offering comprehensive information that supports growth. Classes offer a deeper insight into sequencing, modifications, adjustments, and how to practically apply them. It’s a great opportunity to meet other teachers and broaden your understanding. Classes can be taken either as an entire series or individually.

July 7th / 7:15pm - Sequencing : The Art of Creating a Class

After moving through a brief flow, we will dive deep into how to build a class. Approaching the various formulas available to design a class that reflects your genuine offering and intelligently support the students growth. With this knowledge you will leave with a deeper comprehension on how to apply your training to create a class that will keep students returning to their mat and increase your following.

August 4th / 7:15pm - Adjustments: Holding Ground & Respecting Space

How do you protect yourself as a teacher and respect the space of the student? Following a brief practice, we will discuss what it means to hold space first for SELF and then for students. Approaching the posture of the teacher that is the foundation from which the student gains mobility and understanding within alignment. We will address how to be firm, but not forceful.  You will deepen your ability to “read” students alignment and decipher which should be adjusted and which is ones natural alignment. What you learn in this portion of the series will allow you to support your students understanding of alignment and increase their desire to build their practice.

September 8th / 7:15pm - Integral Movement : Active vs. Passive

We will discuss utilizing props to encourage muscle integration. How to lead students through an intelligent asana that will allow a deeper understanding of how asanas should feel vs. appear. You will leave this portion of the series knowing how to cue various prop usage, activate core engagement to support proper alignment and enrich students inversion practice.

October 6th / 7:15pm - Yoga as a Business : Functionality as an Independent Contractor

We will discuss what it means to function as an independent contractor within a business. Decide what’s next, prepare for auditions, create a resume that reflects your genuine offering Seek your “niche” and protect your intellectual property. Grow your knowledge base of how to function as a separate entity. Understand your worth and income.  If you have taken the other classes in this series this is a great way to arrive full circle with a full set of tools to continue on your teaching path. However, if you have not taken all or any other portion of the series this is still a develop your offerings as a business.

Hosted by Bend + Bloom Yoga, NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, and Prospect Park Alliance every Thursday night from June 6 through August 29 for free, fresh-air yoga in beautiful Prospect Park.  The series draws hundreds of Brooklynites, of all experience levels, each week to celebrate and experience yoga and wellness in our treasured park.

To participate in the Prospect Park Yoga series you MUST rsvp and acknowledge the waiver prior to your first class. For weather-related updates, please follow bend&bloom on Facebook and Instagram.

Beau will be teaching August 15th 7-8pm.

DIRECTIONS: Enter the park at Grand Army Plaza, Garfield, or 3rd St. Proceed to Long Meadow and look for the sea of mats. Bring your own mat and water bottle plus a friend or two!

Discover: 'Pieces of a Whole' - by Miriam Castillo

Throughout the past year, Miriam Castillo has been exploring the intersection between Yoga, Art and Community using coloring meditation sessions, some of them hosted by NY+Life Magazine Urban Retreats. Departing from a big scale hand drawn illustration, the experience is about sharing with a group of people a canvas with the intention to collaborate as another meditation method. The work presented in this show, is a dissection of the works done as part of these sessions, the product of co-creating among different individuals together, just for the sake of creativity, spirituality and community.

We will be sharing another canvas at this show Reception, all attendants will be invited to participate in a piece made specially for the occasion. Join us at this FREE community gathering!


A percentage of the proceeds of this exhibit will be supporting Woman in need’ and organization supporting homeless NYC mothers and their children.

Namastuy brings you a 6-week prenatal yoga series for expecting moms looking to create community and cultivate a gentle movement based practice. Each class utilizes yoga asanas, breath work and meditation, and group discussion to foster confidence and a body intelligence to guide you through this wondrous journey. Class is open to expecting parents at any stage of pregnancy. Please note, no previous yoga experience is required. We meet you where you are. Join us!

CommUNITY Flow for 'Liberation Prison Yoga'

Every Friday 4pm - CommUNITY. A steady, breath to breath Vinyasa practice guided through alignment cues that creates mindfulness that increases the student's physical and mental awareness. Modifications are offered to make it accessible to all levels. Come, let’s move as one! 

This class is free, but donations are greatly appreciated: 
All proceeds of this class support 'Liberation Prison Yoga' a registered 501 (c)3 charity with a mission to serve prisons and jails, bringing trauma-conscious yoga programs to incarcerated women, men, LGBTQ, youth, staff, and those whose lives are affected by incarceration; to train yoga instructors to work inside the prison system; and to educate the public about trauma-conscious yoga.
